CASA-KARAKARA
愛知県名古屋市。都心を流れる堀川沿いに、元々天井が高かった材木屋が空いた為、
隣で飲食店を営むオーナーが、
VIP専用のラウンジを作りたいとの要望から計画はスタートした。
様々な検証後、“如何にして川岸の快適性を室内に取り込むか”という事と、
個性的なオーナーのイメージを前面に打ち出し、
“オーナーの家に遊びにきたような感覚”を表現する事にした。
計画が進むにつれ、当初は1,2階だけだったが、
3階にオーナーが住むことになり、文字通り”“オーナーの家“という計画になった。
全体的には、既存の建物から2階,2.5階と川に向かってテラスを張り出す事にした。
1階は既存の階高が低い為、駐車場とアプローチとし、
わざと奥から専用のEVで2階に上がる導線で、期待感をあおる。
2階に上りEVの扉が開くと、目の前にテラス越しに堀川の眺めが広がる。
振り返り扉を開け、室内に入ると、吹抜けのリビングが広がる劇的な展開。
大きな鉄板とフードを有するカウンターからは様々な趣向をこらした料理が生み出され、
オーナーの趣味趣向をイメージしたアートやオブジェ、
暖炉、照明、セレクトされた音楽に体が包み込まれる。
“船”をモチーフにした階段を上がれば、そこは特別なテラス。
夜風に吹かれグラスを片手に、ガラスシェード越しのキャンドルライトの光、
川面に写り込む揺らめく光、
行き交う船舶の光を眺めながら、静かに語らう事が出来る。
普段、これらの空間はオーナーがリビングとして使い、
オーナーの携帯に予約が入れば、
1日一組限定の自分達だけのプライベートレストランとして貸し切る事が出来る。
3階はうってかわって純和風の趣のプライベート空間（貸切不可）。
川側に坪庭を有する開放的な浴室、洗面をもち、
切り取られた丸窓越しに和室から庭を眺める事が出来る。
“家でもあり、ラウンジでもある。”
上品な大人の空間を、まるで我が家でくつろいでいるように使える。
ゲストにとってこの上ない喜びである。
Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. Along the Horikawa River that runs through the city center, a lumber store with a high ceiling became vacant,
and the plan began when the owner, who runs a restaurant next door,
wanted to create a lounge exclusively for VIPs.
After various investigations, we decided to “bring the comfort of the riverside into the room” and
emphasize the unique image of the owner,
and to convey “the feeling of visiting the owner’s home.”
As the plan progressed, it was originally only the first and second floors, but the owner decided to live on the third floor, and the plan became literally “the owner’s house.”Overall, it was decided to extend terraces from the existing building toward the river on the second and 2.5th floors.Because the existing floor height on the first floor is low, it will be used as a parking lot and an approach,
and a special elevator will be deliberately installed at the back to take you to the second floor, building up a sense of anticipation.When you go up to the second floor and the elevator door opens, a view of Horikawa River spreads out before you over the terrace.When you turn around and open the door and enter the room, you will be greeted by a dramatic view of the open-ceiling living room.A variety of elaborate dishes are prepared at the counter with a large iron plate and food,
and your body will be enveloped in art and objects inspired by the owner’s hobbies and tastes,
a fireplace, lighting, and selected music.Go up the stairs with a “ship” motif and you will find yourself on a special terrace.With a glass in hand, blown by the night breeze,
the light of candlelight through the glass shade,
Guests can chat quietly while watching the flickering lights reflected on the river’s surface and the lights of ships passing by.Normally, the owner uses these spaces as a living room, but if a reservation is made on the owner’s mobile phone,it can be rented out as a private restaurant for one group per day only.The third floor, in contrast, is a private space with a purely Japanese feel (not available for private booking).
It has an open bathroom and washroom with a small garden on the river side,
and the garden can be viewed from the Japanese-style room through a round window.”It’s both a home and a lounge.”This elegant, adult space can be used as if you were relaxing in your own home.
It is the ultimate joy for guests.
